Part 1 (online) on February 9th: The online component, presented via zoom, focuses on the why and how of dormant season fruit tree pruning. Learn how to read your tree and use the best strategies and types of pruning cuts to steward a healthy tree that will provide fruit and be beautiful, year after year. Apples, pears and figs will be our practical focus though plums will be discussed.
Part 2 (in person) on February 13th: The hands-on, in-person demonstration takes place the following weekend. Participants should be prepared to be outside and bring hand pruners, loppers or a pruning saw if you have these tools. The in person outdoor demo will take place in central Courtenay.
