What Would These Be?

Would anyone know what these might be? They are all over our yard. A thin skin almost like an onion, with a seed in each segment.

Some type of conifer seed? Maybe Douglas fir?

Yes, I agree with @Kate that they are a conifer seed. What trees do you have near by that they could have come from?

There are some Douglas Fir, Hemlock trees behind our property

They are from a conifer, probably Douglas Fir because of their size, Hemlock are very small. Do you have a squirrel? They are very busy this time of year getting the cone seeds out and leaving the debris behind.
