What A Bee Knows - by Stephen Buchmann

We have just created a new Forum subtopic under the “Share” category called “Good Reads”. If anyone has a gardening related book they’d like to highlight here, you can be sure that other members will appreciate it! Please include the title, author, why you liked it/a brief description, what did it cost and where is it available. A photo would also be helpful, but not necessary.

Here is our first suggestion from Gordon Stewart:

"What a Bee Knows: Exploring the Thoughts, Memories and Personalities of Bees” by entomologist Stephen Buchmann.

This is an excellent read about all sorts of bees, including the many bees we have here. It talks about their abilities to survive and their relationship with the flowers they rely on. It also talks about what we can do to help attract bees to our properties, as many of the bee populations around the world are declining significantly. The book is written by a biologist, but in a user friendly manner. Readers will be able to understand what he is talking about. He explores the whole lives of bees, from birth, to sex and even how they navigate the world they live in!

About $25 and appears to be readily available.
