Seed Saving - bagging

Hello. I plan on bagging some of my tomato plants to save the seed this year. Is there a good local source to find small muslin bags ( or other type bags that will work for this purpose) ?

I would contact the Comox Valley Growers & Seed Savers to see what they use and where they source their products.

Good idea. Might not be necessary. My wife just handed me a bag of re-usable tea bags. They might just do the trick if they’re large enough. Now to wait for a few flowers to find out.

I save all my paper bags (small ones) and pop seed heads in there to dry for a spell (different process used for tomatoes obviously ). When the seed is dry and has been cleaned, I store them in paper packs from Lee Valley (they can be reused if you write in pencil).

I see that West Coast seeds also sells blank packs:

Use Blank Seed Packets to save seeds from year to year, or to break up large quantities of seeds into smaller, manageable packets to share wi
