Our Dragonfly pets

Our dragonflys grow up in our pond as nymphs and eat all sorts of things there like mosquito larvae for instance. Then they crawl out of the pond and hatch out of their larval shells and go on to patrol our yard for more bugs. They are very territorial never leaving the back yard and flying a route that takes them in circles around the yard. Eventually they’ll lay their eggs back in the pond for next year’s aerial displays.

What a lovely photo showing those amazing mosiac wings. I see so few in my dry garden so I truly appreciate seeing yours.

Amazing photo and beautiful detail. Plus, it kind of looks like its smiling

Gorgeous! And yes, ours are territorial as well, sitting on the same plant stake, inspectingctheir realms.
