Is this a suitable time to mulch my garden beds or should I wait till later in the fall, or even the spring?
I think you can mulch any time. Keeps the moisture in; feeds the plants; makes things look tidy.
Only problem I could see is that if your garden is already dry, mulching will also keep moisture out! Make sure your soil is nicely watered before putting down your mulch.
