Does anyone know what made these cocoons? I looked it up but not sure if they are mud dauber wasps. My daughter found them in a pot that has a grass growing in it.
I found a description of Mud Dauber Wasps that includes a picture of their cocoons. They appear to be quite different from the ones you are holding. https://usercontent1.hubstatic.com/14199722_f520.jpg
We found out that these are “Potter wasps”. They usually attach the pot to branches but my daughter keeps finding them in the pot that her rosemary is in. They must love the fragrance too!
