More fruit than you need or can handle?

A reminder that when fruit trees are needing harvesting, if you need help or know anyone who needs help LUSH Valley Food Action Society will harvest for you. Here’s the deal:
1/3 of the harvest (or more) goes to other local community organizations and LUSH Valley food programs
1/3 of the harvest goes to volunteers
Up to 1/3 goes to homeowners

Is there a time frame for harvesting? My Dutch cooking pears aren’t ready until well into September.

I think it’s for whenever you have fruit that needs picking, but might be a good idea to contact them sooner rather than later. Lush depends on volunteers to do the picking. :slight_smile:
