In May 2022, we visited the lush Comox peninsula garden of Lorraine and David (delays posting due to holidays). This garden has been ‘in the works’ for over thirty years. It is just over one acre and contains gorgeous (and very practical) terraced beds, a wonderful variety of fruit, berries and herbs, vegetables interplanted with the blooms, a continuous feast of nectar for pollinators, a woodland garden, bubbling water features, interesting found objects, and huge established trees. There is something here to be enjoyed by everyone—including Rosie the dog who obviously is living a very happy life! We visited on an overcast day during a very rainy spring and things were looking very green. Unbelievably, Lorraine and David hand water this whole garden (from two wells on the property). Granted, that hadn’t been a big hardship during this past spring.
