We are wanting to plant a shade tree this Spring in our back yard. Are looking for something that grows reasonably quickly…we are getting elderly and don’t have plenty of years to watch it grow. Any suggestions…we live in Cumberland
A London Plane tree grows quickly and is a magnificent shade tree. They do get very large eventually, so that’s a consideration of course. Much depends on the size of your yard.

We put in a Pacific Sunset Maple (Acer truncatum x A. platanoides ‘Warrenred) from Outback Nursery which has grown very quickly. Beautiful fall colour too. supposed to get 30’tal x20’ wide at maturity.
