Types of Tomatoes (determinate / indeterminate) and things to consider when buying seed (F1 / open pollinated)
The steps of seeding tomatoes, pricking the seedlings out once they are ready, and potting them up.
Really interesting tip about lying the larger plants down in a trough so the stem stays in the warm part of the soil. Cutting off so much hard-won growth (the lower branches) will be hard for me but I’ll give it a try this year!
Well done Darlene . That was great !
Very clear video Darlene, thanks.
I am interested to hear people’s favourite support systems for their tomatoes, and sources for recommended cages if that’s your choice, please!
It does seem counter-intuitive but it works! I’ve done it for years…the plants are really strong and make up for lost growth in no time. News to me, however, the trick about laying them down in a trough when they’re really tall. What a great tip!
