I discovered, today (September 18th) that our Granny Smith apple tree is sprouting flower blossoms, and some new growth on a few branches. What should I do? Let them grow? Pinch them off? Has anyone else seen this?
Mine is also blooming! Not sure of the variety—possibly a Jonagold. I’ve done some research and apparently this does happen with a wet spring followed by a hot dry spell. Hmmm. Here’s the link, FYI.

Our cherry did this last September. We just enjoyed the blossoms, and it did not appear to affect the crop this year.
