Aphrodite, sweetshrub

We love the deer really we do, as they munch their way thru our garden beds!! They travel thru our front yard so much they have paths in the bark mulch. Our plan is to share some open space with them but to have less dead stalks sticking up and a few more flowers. To that end this shrub is a winner, being fragrant, reblooming summer flower.

Lovely flower on that shrub. How big does the shrub grow and what type of soil and light does it like? I’ve never seen one before.

We have had this for 2 years. It blooms on new wood, so I cut it back in the fall to about 2 to 3 foot tall. Then it starts blooming around June, continuing to grow and bloom on new branches. It is about 6 feet tall and 4 feet wide. We purchased this at Paradise garden center , on the way to Black creek.

I will have to see if they have them again. I keep meaning to stop by that garden centre as I pass it a lot coming home from town, but somehow I never have!
