Good morning! Where is the best place to find/buy the mud that mason bees need to build their nesting chambers? Our gardens are all covered in wood mulch, so no dirt of any kind readily available for the bees. I’ll need to put a small container out for them. Thanks!
Mason bees will not take dirt from your garden, they will find it in a ditch or creek , because they want vertical surface to harvest from and dampness. They will travel quite a distance to find what they need. Min. 200 metres from their house.
Hmmmm… no creek or ditch near me unfortunately for the bees. Other ideas? Thanks!
Problem solved! Art Knapp sells mason bee nesting clay. All set now!
