We have just moved into our new home and our apple and pear trees are loaded with fruit. I know that this year I just won’t be able to use the harvest. I would be happy to have members come and pick what they need, but are there any other places that would appreciate this fruit? Or any suggestions as to what to do with it? We don’t have a compost pile at this point. Thanks!

Great question, Carol. Yes, LUSH Valley has a program for picking fruit trees. You can register your trees and their volunteers will come out and pick. Have a look at their information here. They are a wonderful not-for-profit organization that “help people gain local food systems skills, knowledge and access to good food.”
