Cutworms - ewww

Hi everyone,

We have been on a tear in our garden killing cutworms, while they are partying hard killing EVERYTHING. I have tried cardboard around stems, ashes, and even a plastic ring 1" out of the dirt and 2" in. They are laughing at us.

We have started to put the weeds into yard bags so that we don’t keep any larvae nearby and are pulling up whatever we can to remove food sources.

Any other brilliant ideas out there for us?

Thanks,

Lila

Perhaps food grade diatomaceous earth :seedling:

I’m rethinking… DE not a good healthy choice to treat your garden pests. Wished I had a good answer.

Chris,
I’ve done some reading since your first suggestion and it doesn’t seem harmful to the overall soil/plant health. For sure it reads as a pesticide, but maybe I’ll just try a small test zone.
Thanks,
Lila
